Reading Update: Finishing Thoughts: Love and Gelato

So yes. I finished Love and Gelato and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be. It was a stunning end. I thought that it was going to kinda be boring kinda like the middle but it wasn’t. It was amazing. Turns out, Howard isn’t Linas biological dad. A guy named Matteo is and he’s an ass. And when Lina and Ren go confront the guy he’s so mean he makes Lina cry. And Ren and her kiss. Not just like a peck but like, kiss KISS. They fell in love and the rest of the book is about how Lina doesn’t think Howard knows that he’s not her father but he does. And how she and Ren fall in love and stay in love. Andddd Thomas. Poor Thomas is just ending up as like a side/background character. The scene where Lina gives the journal to Howard and talks to him heart to heart is something that really spoke to me. And the end, when Lina decides to stay, that was the sprinkles on top of the gelato for me. And that, is what a good book is all about. Next up, more The Heir, Bunheads and Thousandth Floor updates and posts. Get ready, get hyped and happy reading. -Caroline

Bunheads: First Impressions and How I’m feeling about It

So, like I promised, we’re going to be starting or I’ll be starting Bunheads tonight. So how do I feel about it and first impressions? It’s been awhile since I read this but I loved it so much I actually own it in my personal library. As in, like my physical personal library which books have to be super special for me to own a physical copy of them. I usually only purchase ebooks on my kindle or stuff like that to save space but if one is really special and speaks to me, well then it ends up on my special book shelf or library cart in my room. So, Bunheads definitely was one of those books for me that was special enough to own. So I know I loved it when I read it last. Dance books are definitely a fav of mine. I studied dance at a school for the arts when I was growing up and I never really stopped being a dancer even if my feet don’t want to work that way anymore. I’m excited to dive right into this book tonight and rekindle my love for it. I’m sure it won’t be hard though. It’s a great book and a great story. The characters are super solid. So is the plot line. So get ready for tons of posts and updates on it cause they’ll be coming. Probably starting tonight. And if I can’t sleep then there will be updates on The Heir as well. So, ready, set, go! Happy reading. -Caroline

Change of Plans: Reading Update and Life Update

Hey guys. I know it’s late. It’s about 11 p.m. here and I’m exhausted. We had a bad family emergency today at our house and I’m super stressed. So what’s the best way to relieve stress? Well, for me it’s reading so…While we’re reading The Heir and the The Crown and finishing up the Selection series, we’re going to be reading Bunheads a little bit early as a side book. I thought I was gonna wait and do Bunheads as the side book to the Trylle Trilogy which I’ll be reading after the Selection series, but today just pushed me over the edge and I need to calm down so Bunheads it is. Reading about beautiful ballerinas does that to ya, right? Well for me it does. So, that’s what we’ll do. I’ll start on Bunheads tonight and get up some dream cast posts and some general aesthetic posts that are mainly just going to be ballerina/ballet related. So get ready, and get hyped. Because Bunheads starts tonight. -Caroline

Reading Update: Love and Gelato: Where I’m at and How I feel about it

Hey guys. So I know I’ve done a ton of Selection updates today but I wanted to throw in there a Love and Gelato update as well because I know it’s been since like yesterday that I did one. So here goes. I’m almost to the end of Love and Gelato and honestly not a ton has happened in my opinion. I mean little things sure. But I’m looking for like….Big exciting things. There are two exciting things to be noted in these few chapters that I read. Ren kinda takes Lina on a semi date to a place that her mother mentioned in her journal and Lina shares her mother’s journal with Ren. Ren is the only one who she’s confided her secrets to thus far and I think that’s pretty huge but I don’t know. I was just looking for more to happen, ya know. Like let’s get some romance going. Something, anything. Nope. Nothing really big thus far. Making these chapters a bit boring right now. Ugh. Boring chapters. Also what happened was Lina’s mother Hadley talks in her journal about her secret love affair with “X” who Lina thinks is Howard but we don’t really know for sure. And Hadley mentions these chapters that her relationship with “X” is going downhill and Lina is worried and wants to find out what happened. I do too actually. I’m like at least a little bit emotionally invested in this story. I was moreso invested at the beginning and this book is hitting like a solid 3.5/5 for me on the good reads scale currently, but I still have hope. Oh ye of little faith they say. Ha. Anyways, I’m hoping more exciting stuff happens soon otherwise this book is gonna hit probably more like a solid 3/5 on the scale for me by the end. Also, I know I said I’d do some character aesthetics for Ren and Thomas and some of the other characters but honestly the book doesn’t give you much to work off of when it comes to their likes, dislikes, or really anything too personal about them at this point. And fanart is like basically unheard of for this book apparently. So, that’s that for now. Like I said, hopefully some spicy stuff will happen later. Let me read a few more chapters and let you guys know. Until next time, happy reading.-Caroline

The Heir: Dream Cast Post: Princess Eadlyn! Who I would cast. Or at least what I think she’d look like/The Heir General Aesthetics Post

Young Mila Kunis as Princess Eadlyn

Hey guys. So I would choose a young Mila Kunis as Princess Eadlyn if there were a film/t.v. adaption. I think her younger self would’ve been perfect for the role. And it goes along with her description in the books. Also, I put a bunch of general aesthetics stuff together on this post for The Heir and images that made me think of Eadlyn and the Heir books. When I think Eadlyn, I think spoiled, glitter, prom dresses every day and lots of sparkle sparkle everywhere. At least in the beginning. Perhaps we’ll do another aesthetics post for how she changes along the way. (No spoilers though) Next up, more dream cast posts. More reading tunes. Until then, happy reading. -Caroline

The Heir: First Impressions and Feelings

Yup. Another day. Another book. This starts our discussion of the book The Heir which is the fourth book in the Selection series and honestly one of my very favs out of the entire thing. I quite love Eadlyn way more than I loved America and her selection and I just think that Eadlyn’s selection is way more fun and personable. I love that Eadlyn is also a twin and her brother is also involved in the entire thing. Well, sort of. You’ll see. So yeah. What are my thoughts and feelings about starting this new adventure with Eadlyn and Co.? Absolutely excited and ready for anything. I remember this story in bits and pieces and I can’t wait to get down to the nitty gritty with it. This is going to be so much fun. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do or at least live a bit vicariously through me through my commentary. First things first, we’re gonna do a dream cast post of The Heir characters. Then, we’ll do a general Aesthetics post and go from there. So get ready. Get hyped. It’s gonna be fun.-Caroline

Reading Update: The rest of Happily Ever After Including: The Maid, The Catch Ups from the Eliminated, After the One and Where are They Now!

Well guys that’s it for the Happily Ever After Novella Book. I’ve finished it early this morning and now we’re gonna talk about all the wonderful stuff that it has left in it. Specifically, the story The Maid, about Lucy and Aspen’s relationship, Celeste’s “deleted” Scenes, After the One and Where Are They Now. Let’s start with The Maid. I was a little sad to see it start out with a sorta fight between Lucy and Aspen on the plane with America but I’m happy to see that they resolved it fairly quickly. I know Lucy was hesitant to declare her love for Aspen because she knew that he’d always love America in some way but I’m glad she finally did and they finally were able to officially be together. The whole The Maid story was about how Aspen hadn’t told America yet that he didn’t love her anymore and how he was going to declare his love for Lucy instead. It was a big kinda….well slow start for one. And for second it was also kinda predictable. But still very good. I’d rate it a 2/5 on the story scale. Next was deleted scenes from Celeste’s time in the Selection and I thought it was also pretty predictable. She was mean even in her mind and that kinda sucked big time. I really hated seeing how she treated other people, not just the other Selected. I’m not gonna say she deserved the ending that she got, but it still was kinda expected at that point. She was mean. She had a violent end. I’d rate that story 3/5 on the story scale. Then, there was the story After the One which was one of my absolute favs in the entire Novella book where it’s Maxon’s birthday and it’s been two years since the Selection and for his birthday present she tells him she’s pregnant with their first child! Oh my goodness. It was such a great scene. I’m obsessed. Long live Maxon and America. That ship will forever sail the seas. That story got a 6/5 on the story scale. Why? Cause it’s adorable. And I loved it. Enough said. Then the last part of the Happily Ever After Novella series was Where Are they Now which was kinda meh for me. It showed who the girls married or who they didn’t marry and it was blah and boring. I thought they definitely could’ve done better with that section. But then again, it was like a filler chapter at the end of the book so I guess that was to be expected. And that, my friends was the end of the Happily Ever After Novella series for the Selection Series. Next up, we’ll be starting The Heir which takes place 20 years after America wins the Selection with Maxon and now their daughter, Eadlyn has come of age for her own Selection. But this time, it’s all guys! So get ready for the men to invade the palace because it’s going to be a wild ride. -Caroline
