Dream Cast Post for Survive the Night: Who I’d think would play who

Hey guys so yup. It’s that time again. Yet another Dream Cast Post for a new book. This time it’s Survive the Night and if there was an adaption of some kind, who I’d want to play who. So these are the girls I chose who would fit the aesthetics of each of the main characters. It’s a raver girl/survival horror book so I went with mainly raver aesthetics. Colorful, candy color hair and cute faces. This is what Survive the Night is all about. So, next post will be tomorrow I think. I need some rest. A lot of content went up on the blog today so hopefully that’s okay. I hope you all enjoyed hanging out today and until next time, happy reading. -Caroline

General Aesthetics Post for Misguided Angel!

Image board that’s my inspiration as I read Misguided Angel

So that’s right! It’s time for another general Aesthetics post where I put together a mood board/inspiration board for the book that I’m reading. This time it’s Misguided Angel and I love the dark vibes I’m getting from it and that’s why this board is completely and totally gothic/dark themed. The board is above so check it out. Next up will be an update for Prisoner of Darkness so stay tuned and stay hyped cause it’s coming at you right now. -Caroline

One and Done Side Book Readathon: The Porcupine of Truth

So this book I’m gonna one and done today because that’s exactly how long it’ll take me to finish it. One day. It’s not short by any means but it’s not terribly long either. This book you would think by looking at it that it’s a cutesy book and then you realize nope. Definitely not a cutesy book. It’s a very good book so far but it’s a tough read at a lot of points because of the honest content about the main characters dad dying if alcoholism and the other main character coming from an equally dark life. The road trip they go on sounds interesting. But I’m skeptical. It’s a dark subject they’re talking about here and it’s one that’s a reality that needs to be talked about but in other words I’m going to spend tonight reading all out cutesy fairytale retellings to cleanse my palette after this. Like I said, good book. Tough read. You wanna cry to a book? This will do it. 5/5 stars on the good reads scale too for right now. We’ll see if that changes. Until then, hope you liked the surprise Readathon update. I’ll keep updating as the day goes on as well as updating the rest of the series or as many as I can get done today. So get ready, get hyped and as always, happy reading. -Caroline

Misguided Angel Book 5 in the Blue Bloods Series: Intro and First Impressions

So in this book, Schuyler has run off with Jack. Who is technically supposed to be bonded to Mimi right now, but he refused so that means Mimi’s going to try and kill him because he broke the code. Mimi has been voted the head of the coven and that’s just going to make things that much worse for Schuyler and Jack who are trying desperately to stay alive. So far, all hell’s broken loose. Literally. And I have no idea where Oliver or Bliss or any of the others are. I know Kingsley sacrificed himself for Mimi in the last book so she’s grieving over that. But basically this series is getting more and more intricate as we go, and I have to wonder. Is it too intricate? I find I’m losing slight interest in it but I think I’m gonna still power through. It’s rating like an iffy 3.5/5 stars on the good reads scale right now so we’ll see. I have this book and I think the last book and then the sequel. So I’m hoping it’ll be worth it. Anyways, up next is an Awakening Book 1 in the Watchers Trilogy update so stay tuned, stay bookish and as always, happy reading. -Caroline

Survive The Night: Intro and First Impressions

You’re psychotic,” I mutter. But I’m smiling. “Face it, youre going to lead an incredibly exciting and dangerous life.” She winks at me. “ Whether you want to or not.”

Casey and Shana Chapter 2 of Survive the Night by Danielle Vega

This is a seriously messed up kinda horror book but it’s in a way that I find to be particularly aesthetically pleasing so we’re just gonna roll with it. And when I say it’s messed up, it’s MESSED up. Danielle Vega has a way with her stories that’s absolutely terrifying, horrific and flat out gory but it’s like candy on Halloween. I eat that stuff up. In a weird way. Also, a note on quotes from this book. There might not be many because of the graphic horror scenes and cursing. But trust me, you’ll wanna check this one out. With or without quotes. So where do I start? Well, let’s start here. This book is about a teen girl named Casey who just got back to her old life from rehab where she was in for drug addiction. She tries to make it as a normal teen but finds that she gets sucked back into the dark side by her former best friend and partner in crime, local bad girl Shana. Shana convinces Casey and their band of misfit friends to go to an all night rave party in the abandoned subway system under their town. But it’s called Survive the Night for a reason. And not all is what it seems in the darkness of the tunnels. Drugs, partying and yes lots of horror, this book exceeds expectations and then some. It takes you through twists and turns and you’ll never see the end coming. So, with that said, today is the first day I start this book. It’ll be our stand alone book for this week which I feel like it’s only gonna take me like a day or two to finish it because of the fast paced action. So stay tuned, keep an eye out for more posts, and as always, happy reading. -Caroline

Our Next Side Book: For Real This Time. It’s going to be….

Yup. We’re going with a survival horror. It’s appropriately titled Survive The Night by Danielle Vega and it is yet another book that I have in my physical personal library. It was just that good. I think you’ll like the crazy aesthetics that go along with it too. So get ready, get set, get hyped cause it’s all coming at ya soon. As in probably in the next hour. So stay tuned and as always, happy reading. -Caroline
