Hey guys! Good evening. How are you all? I’m doing okay but because I’m doing just okay I decided to focus on some new self care techniques and check out some books from the library about them. I use kindle unlimited too so that’s where I got a few as well. And then, one I loved so much I now own it! I know. I know. I’m trying to cut down on splurging on books but this one was important. And by far the best home/living/self care book I’ve read in quite some time. The book covers are shown above. So check them out. My fav out of the group is Simply Spaced by Monica Leed. It’s so perfect. I would give it a 5/5 on the goodreads scale because it’s helped me so much. And yes, just because I’m reading books from the library too doesn’t mean I won’t be updating the rest of the series we’re also doing. No worries. The updates will come. Starting with an intro/first impressions post of Flutter the third book in the My Blood Approves Series. So keep an eye out for that as well. Check out some of these self care books. Self care is super important and can improve all aspects of your health and life in general. Take my word for it. It really works. And until next time, happy reading. -Caroline
Oh my goodness guys. It’s been a busy weekend/week for me and I already finished the second book in the My Blood Approves Series! I know that was fast right? But time flies when you’re having fun. So what’s the deal with the second book? Well remember how I said Peter, Jacks brother is really Alice’s I tended? Well there is this whole thing where he tries to kill her because she asks him to because she doesn’t think she can live without him after he rejected her. It was so sad but Jack stopped him in time. So Peter then leaves. Then Alice’s brother Milo is in an accident and there’s no other choice but to turn him. Alice is happy he gets to live but jealous because she wanted to turn first. But with Milo being a new vampire, Ezra says that it’s best she waits until he’s in more control. Then Jack and Alice have a really tough time containing their feelings for one another and Jack ends up biting her and then Peter comes back, finds out and well then Jack just turns Alice and severs the bond between Peter and her. So yeah super exciting. Naturally Peter doesn’t take the severing if the bond well and leaves again. Alice and Jack are thrilled. All except there’s this small problem of rogue bad vampire trying to hunt them down for some odd reason. Yeah. It’s complicated. But it’s fabulous. I promise. The turning scene between Jack and Alice…ugh so good. I’d give this book an overall rating of 5/5 stars on the good reads scale. So, so good. Next up will be book 3 in the series, Flutter where Alice adjusts to being a vampire and becomes one of the family and Peter suddenly goes on a rampage and they have to stop him because Alice is the only one who can do it. Yup. More complications. So, next post will be the intro/first impressions post for Flutter. Down below is a preview of the cover. Check it out. See what you think. And until next time, happy reading. -Caroline
Guys it’s been a pretty tough day for me and I usually don’t get all into why I am in love with books but it’s because of mental health issues and needing self care that I bought over 10 books today…I know I’m not going to regret that persay but well…that was a lot. I don’t usually do that but today was a rough day and I’m going to try and not beat myself up over it. Cause rough days equal self care and a lot of it. Some girls buy shoes when stressed, I buy books. Healthy obsession? Maybe. But it’s better than others. Now to figure out which of the ten books I’ll read first…Haha yup. That’s gonna be my major dilemma tonight among other things. So, sorry to vent. Etc. but it does feel better to at least recognize that when I’m sad I have a book buying problem. Now back to our regularly scheduled stuff. Thanks for listening. And happy reading. -Caroline
So I may have gone on a book buying spree because well…Just because. I won’t go into details about why but it has a lot to do with self care and mental health so yeah I guess that’s why. I got three boxes sets from one of my fav authors, Melanie Cellier. She’s an author who writes clean teen fiction mainly fairytale story retellings. Aka lots of princess stories. It’s another guilty pleasure of mine. Fairytale retellings. So yeah. Got some of those. Already hooked on the first book. It’s making me feel so much better. Cause let’s face it, fairytales do that. They make us happy. They make us believe everything will be okay. That’s why I love them. So, that will be what I spend the rest of my afternoon doing. Going back and forth between fairytale retelling sets and some other series on my master read list. So, stay tuned and as always, happy reading. -Caroline
Hey guys! So I was on my kindle today and these are the series I got that I’m going to be adding to the master reading list for 2020. The first series is Dark World: The Faerie Games by Michelle Madow and the second series is Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon. They are super cool and I’m so excited for when I start featuring them on the blog in the next few weeks/months. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. So until then, stay tuned and happy reading. -Caroline
Oh my gosh. I finished it! It was just as addicting and great as I remembered it being. Book 1 done. I’d give it a 5/5 stars on the good reads scale for sure. Lots of twists and turns in the end. Not gonna spoil it for you but I will tell you the most important part. Alice isn’t meant for Jack. Alice is meant for his brother Peter. And all hell is gonna break lose in the next book as Peter disappears, refuses to bond with her and something happens to her little brother Milo. Yikes. And all this before she gets turned at age eighteen. It’s all very exciting and I’m already on page like 10 of the second book in the series, Fate. Down below is the cover preview for book 2 in the series, Fate. Enjoy and stay tuned for more updates. And as always, happy reading. -Caroline
So I figured I’d let you guys know the rankings for my top three books of this week. So here we go!
So that’s my top three for this week for now. We’ll see if it changes by the time the weekend rolls around. But until then, stay tuned and happy reading. -Caroline
