Reading Update: I Love You So Mochi: I Finished It! Final Thoughts/Feelings

“When you go home, I want you to remember that you are boundless,” he says. “That your dreams are not limited by anything—not uncertainty. Not what someone else thinks or says. Not what you think you should be doing versus what makes your heart light up.” He cups my face with one of his hands, his thumb stroking down my cheek. “Watching you embrace your passion is beautiful. And I hope you keep doing that, no matter what else might get in the way. You are so creative, so talented—the way your imagination overflows when you’re inspired …” He shakes his head, smiling slightly. “You have this endless well of passion and when you love something, you love it so fiercely. I am in awe of that. I am in awe of you.”

Akira to Kimi in the last chapter if I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn

Guys! I finished it. And oh my goodness did I cry at the end. It was so good but so heartbreaking when Akira and Kimi said goodbye. Ugh it just ripped my heart out and like stomped on it… I loved every minute of it though. It was a stellar kind of love between them that was a mixture of young, happy love and hopeless romantic kinda love. You knew they wouldn’t get to be together forever, but it’s just that. Kimi didn’t have forever to spend with him. She has her dreams and he has his. They both will succeed in their journey but maybe not together. Ugh but still did I want them to be? Yes. So yes. 20/5 stars for a freakin heartbreak of the century. I wasn’t prepared for that ending. Especially after midnight on a Friday but hey. It works. And oh yeah I’m gonna put it to the side and read it again sometime. Because books that create feelings are the very best kind. So, until the next post, stay bookish, stay hyped and as always, happy reading. -Caroline
