Hey guys so as promised, today I’ll be reviewing the first book in the Hannah Swensen Murder Mystery books series, The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. This the very first book in the series and oh my gosh guys it’s so good. Like, I have a lot of murder mystery books in a whole bunch of different categories, but mainly like bakery/food stuff and I have to say this is one of the best ones I’ve ever read. It warms the heart and makes your stomach growl at the same time. The recipes look delicious and the whole plot line was as delicious as the sweet treats in it. From beginning to end it just spoke to my heart and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series as well. I’ve heard from friends of mine in the book world that the books kinda slow down and have the same plot line as one another as you go from book to book but for me I feel like that’s not going to bother me too much. I’m kind of a more casual reader so I like books that are not too “thrilling” or different each time. I’m more of a slow paced kind of girl and this book series speaks volumes to that. I’m not going to spoil the book in this review because if you want to know what it’s like you gotta read it yourself and trust me you won’t regret it. But I will say, the ending and the beginning and heck even the middle is very, very satisfying. I know they made it into a movie too on the Hallmark channel (as you can see above) but I think that would kinda spoil the book feel good vibes I’ve been getting from reading the series if I watched the movie right now. I don’t know. Maybe when I finish the series I’ll come back to it. Who knows. Anything’s possible right? But as for this particular book in the series it was very enjoyable. I felt it was just the right pace and it held my interest all the way till the end. I am wondering though if my friends are going to be right when they said that each of these books kinda has the same plot line each time. I would assume so cause there’s only so many ways you can say in a polite, cute kinda way that someone was murdered. Each book. Every time. We’ll see though. Am I right? Am I wrong? Let me know down in the comments. Have you read the series? What should I expect with the rest of the books? I’m looking forward to getting started on the second book in the series as soon as a I can. Next up with be….
Get excited. Get hyped. Get bookish. And as always, I’m listening. -Caroline
